What do you love about the city?

I hadn’t been to Canberra since my obligatory Primary School trip around our nations capital. It was well worth a re-visit!canberra

Most inspiring stores, spaces, galleries.

Nation Gallery Of Australia – Jackson Pollock’s Blue Poles was purchased in 1973 for $1.3 million by the Whitlam government, it is now reportedly valued at $350 million – worth a visit! (Plus other works by de Kooning, Rothko, and Gorky).

Nishi Gallery in NewActon – showing mainly Canberra-based artists

Monster Kitchen and Bar – located in the ground floor of Hotel Hotel, spread across various spaces and using local and seasonal produce, it’s sure to impress.

    Where to stay?

Hotel Hotel – in the centre of NewActon and only a few years old is this design savvy hotel. With rooms either facing the atrium (moody and romantic) or outwards Lake Burley Griffin (views and sunlight), this boutique hotel packs a punch. Every nook and cranny has something to discover, perfect for those with a curiosity and appetite for quirky design.
